As mainstay of our country has been agriculture since ancient times, knowledge of plant protection maintained by scholars is readily available. But since 1960s, with the success of green revolution faster acting chemical pesticides have largely replaced traditional pest control mechanisms.
A large part of that ancient agricultural knowledge is applicable to the crop production in India, by modernizing traditional methods by combining it with biotechnological processes.
Bijasu is reinventing these traditional recipes for managing plant diseases, by conducting experiments to validate these formulations. In addition to it, we have analyzed the various compounds in our preparations that render our effective formulations using NMR metabolomics. Using fermentation technology and herbal plant materials we developed ayurvedic pest control agents that was effective against thrips and spider mites (see image above) and was also upto 60% effective against leaf miners.
